Who is CASA? 

CASA is a local non profit developer, owner and manager of affordable housing, dedicated to serving the housing needs of low wealth individuals, especially those with disabilities and those who are homeless.

 

What types of housing does CASA offer?

CASA offers a variety of single family homes, efficiency units and one & two bedroom apartments that are scattered throughout Wake County.

 

What are the housing qualifications?

CASA serves persons with a disability at 30% of the area median income (AMI), which currently is $15,000 for a single adult or $17,200 for a family of two.  Certain properties are only available to individuals exiting homelessness.

 

What is the monthly rent?

There are two types of monthly rent.  One is based on 30% of the tenant’s income and the other is set rents based on the property, generally $250 - $275.

How can I apply for housing and who can submit an application?

ApplicatIons may be obtained by contacting CASA’s main office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

Who are the Service Providers?

CASA is happy to provide a list of authorized service providers.

 

How do I get a service provider?

The Wake County LME provides a list of service agencies or Crisis & Assessment Services provides assessments and an array of resources available.  Crisis & Assessment is located at 3000 Falstaff Road, Raleigh , 919-250-3133.

 

I have a disability and do not have a service provider, can I apply for housing?

No, please contact the LME (250-3133) to get a list of local service providers.

 

Once my name is on the waiting list, how long does it take to get housing?

Currently there is approximately a six month wait for available units.
