After a two year break due to COVID-19, CASA returned to in-person events with our annual Fall Fundraiser gala in honor of our 30th anniversary. We are happy to report that we surpassed this year’s $150,000 fundraising goal and were able to raise $157,602 to support affordable housing for CASA’s low-income residents and our mission of ending homelessness in the Triangle! The Fall Fundraiser is CASA’s largest annual fundraising event in support of our mission to provide access to affordable housing across the Triangle.

This year’s fundraiser was held on September 15th at the Merrimon Wynne House in downtown Raleigh. Over 250 people attended the event and had the opportunity to bid on auction and raffle items, sip on cocktails, and hear from CASA staff, board, volunteers, and residents.

After a brief cocktail hour, Hayes Permar hosted our 20-minute program. We heard from several speakers, including Everett McElveen (CASA CEO) and Tina Konidaris (CASA Board member). We were also lucky to be joined by CASA residents Sharon and Keshira Jones. This mother-daughter duo spoke about their experience living in a CASA apartment, and how a stable home base allowed Sharon to pursue her dream of attending law school.

For those who joined us or followed along online, thank you. We are so grateful for your support! If you missed the event, you can view our event video below. Remember, its not too late to donate! Even though we reached our fundraising goal, we’re growing. Your gift will support our current residents and ensure their stability as we focus on expanding and serving even more of our community.
