As you may know, CASA is creating a strategic plan to guide our work over the next five years. It has been an incredible process. We are grateful for all those who contributed to our 27 year foundation and with fresh eyes we revisited and updated our mission, vision, and core beliefs as an agency. Although we’ve grown leaps and bounds since our humble beginnings, we’ve found that our original vision remains the same: we believe that the solution to homelessness is housing.
Last week, the Board of Directors approved our new agency mission statement, which I want to share with you:
CASA provides access to stable, affordable housing for people who are homeless or at risk by developing and managing rental communities.
We also affirmed our Core Beliefs as an agency:
- We believe that the solution to homelessness is housing.
- We believe in the power of an affordable home to transform lives.
- We encourage the sense of hope that tomorrow can be better than today.
- We take seriously our responsibility to strengthen the fabric of neighborhoods.
On this strong foundation, in partnership with you, we are building an exciting future. The framework of our strategic plan will focus on four main areas: infrastructure, financial management, resource development, and housing development/asset management. In the coming months, we’ll share more with you about each of these focus areas, to keep you in the loop about how CASA will be growing – and how you can be part of it!
