CASA is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Trina Clayeux as its new Chief Operations Officer.

“Our intention in the extensive search for our next COO, led by Armstrong McGuire, was to bring on someone with a deep passion for housing, the knowledge and experience to meet us where we are as a dynamic nonprofit, and the vision to help guide CASA to an even brighter future,” said Mary Jean Seyda, CASA’s CEO. “Trina’s work accomplishments speak volumes, and her emphasis on customer service and the dignity of every human interaction makes her a fantastic addition to our dedicated team.”

Trina recently relocated to the Triangle from Washington State, where she directed workforce development, education training, and affordable housing services in advancement of regional economic vitality.  Most recently, Trina spent four years directing efforts to connect young people experiencing homelessness with education, employment, and housing resources, earning national recognition for the program’s effectiveness at improving high school equivalency and first year college success rates as well as matching youth to affordable housing and livable wage employment.

Trina is excited to take the reins of CASA’s day-to-day operations. “It’s an absolute honor to join such a reputable organization and this team of talented professionals and stakeholders committed to addressing the complexities of safe, affordable, and stable housing. CASA’s strategic focus and planning, in collaboration with active partners and donors, contributes to the stronger economy, educational performance, workforce diversity, and quality neighborhoods that positively impact each of us.”

Trina holds a doctoral degree in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University, as well as a master’s in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Outside of working life, you will find her outside, playing sports, and adventuring with her husband, Rasheed, and elementary-aged children, Jamil & Liyana.
