CASA is thrilled to announce our February Partner of the Month: Cardinal Innovations!

Cardinal Innovations Healthcare serves people and families with diagnoses in intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health, or substance use disorders. They help people with complex health needs get access to the services they need. Their vision is a healthy, inclusive world.

When COVID-19 hit, Cardinal Innovations pivoted their community reinvestment program to focus on COVID-19 relief. Their fund provided almost $2 million to help with things like housing, food, and access to care. CASA was one of their recipients and was granted $20,000 to support our low-income tenants living with disabilities in Orange County. Thanks to Cardinal Innovations, CASA residents in Orange County had any outstanding rent forgiven to avoid insurmountable debt once the eviction moratorium expires, and they each received help with groceries. This level of aid would have been impossible without Cardinal Innovations, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.

Mike Bridges, the Director of Transitions to Community Living at Cardinal Innovations, says, “Casa’s mission to provide access to stable, affordable housing is especially important to us because of the people we serve—many of them living in places where finding an affordable place to live is challenging, if not impossible.”

“Cardinal’s support has been crucial in my hometown of Chapel Hill, and across the rest of Orange County,” says Mary Jean Seyda, CASA CEO. “We are so appreciative of the support they provided—especially through these times of uncertainty.”

Thank you, Cardinal Innovations, for helping us ensure the wellbeing of our tenants. We are grateful for this new partnership!
