Join us in a celebration as we proudly introduce our esteemed Partner of the Month for September 2023: the nursing students of the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program at Duke University School of Nursing. We are overjoyed to recognize and applaud their steadfast commitment to enhancing healthcare access for veterans within our local community.
Throughout 2022 and the early months of 2023, CASA staff and leaders at the Duke School of Nursing embarked on a journey of collaboration and innovation. This fruitful partnership took root in the spring of 2023. Our residents often harbor deep-seated skepticism toward the medical field. Through this initiative, they’ve witnessed these dedicated students forging genuine connections and maintaining a consistent presence. While these nursing students offer fundamental healthcare screenings and education, these interactions have empowered our tenants to take control of their own well-being. Consequently, our residents’ overall health has witnessed remarkable improvement.
The value of this program is immeasurable for our residents, while these aspiring nurses gain the priceless opportunity to engage hands-on and deepen their understanding of the community they aspire to serve.
